Exploring by the Seat of your Pants

This resource is AMAZING! Every month Exploring by the Seat of your Pants hosts personal live events for classrooms. The events are webinar-style but are kept small enough that your students get a personal experience and are able to interact with scientists and explorers. Science Friday

Although this resource isn't a physical location you can take your students, they can visit this resource which allows them to listen, read, or experience current science! Science Friday provides free access to podcasts, articles, and activities that are student-friendly and cover topics from all science areas. Click here to access this resource.

Thanksgiving Point Experiences

Thanksgiving Point offers field trips, outreach programs, and educator resources that are immersive and STEM-based. They also offer specialty programs such as Girls Who Code, Girls in Science, and virtual field trips.

The Leonardo

The Leonardo offers teachers a free year-long membership to their museum for teachers who book a field trip or a Leo on Wheels visit. Most of the exhibits and visits are STEM-based and very engaging! Hawk Watch International

Would you like your students to have a raptor encounter? Hawk Watch International provides free classroom visits including SEEd-aligned lessons and interaction with a live raptor (hawk, falcon, or owl). Click here to visit their educational outreach website.

Natural History Museum of Utah

The Natural History Museum of Utah offers several options for your students to visit their museum. With several exhibits with experiences that have been aligned to SEEd standards, this is a great option for your students to enhance their science education. BYU Life Science Museum

The BYU Life Science Museum has several options for students to experience animals in a whole new way including in-house visits (free), outreach, or a webcast (free).The BYU Life Science Museum also has several resources and activities teachers can use in their classroom including Bio Boxes that can bring the museum to your classroom! Unknown to many, the BYU Paleontology Museum is a great place to take your students and allows them to see fossils being excavated in real-time. This museum is free to visit too! *This museum is small and better for a smaller group of students (one or two classes). Click here for more information.

Loveland Living Planet Aquarium

The Loveland Living Planet Aquarium has several resources for teachers including an easy-to-use and access opportunity for field trips to the aquarium. Can't make it to the aquarium? Utah's Hogle Zoo

Eccles Wildlife Education Center

Experience Utah's amazing wetlands at the Eccles Wildlife Education Center. An experience at the center includes a classroom learning experience and the ability to explore the wetlands in person. Friends of Great Salt Lake

The Friends of Great Salt Lake offers resources and field trips for Utah School Districts and even provides reimbursement for bussing costs. These field trips are aligned to SEEd standards and teach our students about the natural resources in their own state! Click here to find out more.

Tracy Aviary & Botanical Garden

The Tracy Aviary provides so many opportunities and different experiences for your students. Not only can you visit the aviary, but they provide classes, outreach, internship-like experiences, and so much more for your students. The discovery center helps students understand all about the Colorado Plateau! From looking at living things, geological formations, planetary science, and research in the field the Canyon Country Discovery Center covers it all. Rio Tinto Kennecott Visitor Experience

Let your students see Utah's resources up close with the Rio Tinto Kennecott Visitor Experience. Students will be able to not only see into this massive local pit mine, but they will get the opportunity to learn about how copper ended up there in the first place.
